Service Description

Fine Arts & Design is Happimess' signature art program, designed for students who are ready to expand their artistic skills while exploring the many ways creativity shapes the world around us. Perfect for students ages 9+ (or Year 2+ at Happimess), this class blends fine arts, applied arts, and hands-on making into one engaging creative experience. Throughout the school year, students will explore drawing, acrylic painting, mixed media, design, and crafts while learning the artistic principles behind every project. From painting on canvas and creating decorative pieces to designing patterns, illustrations, functional art, and creative projects inspired by the world around them, students discover that art isn't just something you hang on a wall—it's everywhere. Each project introduces a new artistic concept or technique through guided instruction before encouraging students to make creative choices, solve problems, and develop their own ideas. As students grow in confidence, they gain more creative freedom while continuing to build strong artistic foundations in colour theory, composition, perspective, texture, form, and design. Our final semester culminates in a larger original canvas created for the annual Happimess Art Gallery. Classes follow the SD48 school calendar and are divided into three semesters. Registration reserves your child's place for the full school year, with each semester invoiced separately. Fine Arts & Design is offered twice a week—Mondays and Wednesdays. Families can choose the day that works best for their schedule or register for both! While the curriculum and skill level remain the same, projects are completely different on each day, allowing students to explore even more mediums, techniques, and creative challenges throughout the year. It's the perfect option for students who just can't get enough Happimess! Registration reserves your child's place for the entire 2026–2027 school year. Tuition for the first semester is due upon registration, with the second and third semesters invoiced separately before they begin. If your child will not be continuing into the next semester, simply let us know at least one month before the new semester starts so we can offer the space to another family.
