About the Event

We’re excited to debut a new ENABLE (Embracing Neurodiversity | Advocacy, Belonging, Learning, Equity) session created for educators who want practical, neuroaffirming ways to support all learners. In this two-hour Pro-D workshop we’ll paint a vibrant underwater scene that doubles as a teaching tool: coral reefs represent brain states, thoughts and emotions, and a guiding fish models co-regulation in action.

Expect a hands-on, step-by-step painting experience paired with concrete classroom strategies. We’ll briefly trace the history of how we’ve understood the brain, critique how Zones of Regulation is commonly used (and misused), and offer a neuroaffirming alternative framework you can use immediately in your classroom. Everything is explained through lived experience and practical advice so you leave with tools, not theory.

What you’ll get:

  • Guided, step-by-step painting of a 12" × 16" canvas (hang your finished piece in class for a visual reminder).

  • A short, teacher-friendly toolkit: how to read brain states, co-regulate students, and adapt routines.

  • FREE classroom posters on request (limited time / while supplies last).

  • Lived-experience insights and hands-on strategies for building psychological safety and inclusive classroom culture.

Who should attend: classroom teachers, EAs, admin, counsellors, and any school staff interested in practical, creative approaches to neurodiversity and regulation.

Join us on Monday, Sept 29 from 10:00–12:00 to create, reflect, and walk away with a new visual metaphor and real strategies for neuroaffirming practice. Spaces are limited — book your spot today.
