About the Event

Embracing Neurodiversity – A Community Meetup

Being neurodivergent—or caring for someone who is—can feel isolating. This free event is a space to connect, share ideas, vent, advocate, and find like-minded people who just get it.

For now, this gathering is for women and nonbinary folks who are comfortable in a women-centered space. Our long-term vision is to create an inclusive community for all ages, genders, and abilities.

This is not an “Autism Mom” meetup. We are neuroaffirming, meaning we celebrate neurodiversity and reject the idea that our brains need curing, fixing, or that we are suffering. If you’re still learning and use that kind of language, you’re still welcome—this is a space to grow and shift perspectives together.

What to Expect:

  • Sign-in (optional)—share contact info if you’d like to stay connected

  • Name tag system to indicate your comfort level with conversations

  • Brief introductions & 10-minute slideshow on neurodivergent-affirming terminology and perspectives

  • Time to mingle and connect

  • Crafting station with options for busy hands—feel free to bring your own knitting, coloring, painting, or anything else that helps you feel comfortable

  • Non-alcoholic drinks provided—but feel free to bring your own

Come as you are—whether you’re here to chat, listen, or just be in a space where you belong, you’re welcome. 💜
