About Harvey Chan

Harvey Chan is from Hong Kong and has been a professional illustrator, fine artist and art educator for numerous years. He is renowned for his designs in the Royal Canadian Mint, where he made significant contributions to the notable Chinese Zodiac coin series. Harvey’s diverse body of exploratory work revolves around the human condition, expressed through human faces and figures. Working in a mixed-media approach using traditional & digital media, he brings together realism and abstraction within innovative compositions.  With over 20 years of teaching experience in art institutions (OCADU, Sheridan College, Toronto School of Art, Capilano University) and private ateliers, Harvey is known for his open-minded and experimental style as an art educator. His positive energy and supportive spirit has inspired students of all levels to explore, grow and develop.
