About the Event
We’re excited to debut a new ENABLE (Embracing Neurodiversity | Advocacy, Belonging, Learning, Equity) session created for educators who want practical, neuroaffirming ways to support autistic students. In this two-hour Pro-D workshop, you’ll paint a vibrant field of flowers where each bloom represents different learning styles, traits, and sensory experiences. Your painting becomes a visual metaphor for understanding, celebrating, and accommodating neurodiversity in your classroom.
Expect a hands-on, step-by-step painting experience paired with concrete strategies you can use immediately. We’ll explore the history of how autism has been understood, highlight common misconceptions, and provide practical, neuroaffirming approaches for creating inclusive classroom environments. Everything is explained through lived experience and actionable advice so you leave with tools, not theory.
What you’ll get:
Guided, step-by-step painting of a 12" × 16" canvas (hang your finished piece in class as a visual reminder).
A short, teacher-friendly toolkit: understanding autistic traits, supporting sensory needs,…
